Reasons to become a Massage Therapist

Reasons to Become a Massage Therapist

1. Massage therapists have the opportunity to help people every day they work. For the most part we are all well aware of the fact that people get very stressed out. Massage is an excellent source for stress reduction and when you train to become a massage therapist, you have the ability to relieve the stress of every person you work with and provide them with a pleasant experience.

2. The environments many people work in are often not relaxing, calm, serene or anything resembling those experiences. However, when you work as a massage therapist, it is your job to provide a calming atmosphere for your client.  If you work at a spa or other location that provides massage as a service, the people you work with are also required to contribute to the serenity of the environment in which you work and where your clients enjoy their appointment.

3. Many people really enjoy not only getting a massage, but giving a massage as well. The mere act of providing a massage can be therapeutic and can bring joy to the massage therapist. If you are such a person who loves to give massages, why not make money to support yourself and your family while giving a massage and giving the gift of relaxation to many more people than you would otherwise have the opportunity to help?

4. Massage Therapists can work in Spa’s, Chiropractic offices, Sports clubs, Physical Therapy office and have private clients.  Many therapists work in more then one location, this provides you a variety of clients.

The increasing number of spas and massage clinics in recent years underscores a growing demand for massage services. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects massage therapist employment growth of 22 percent between 2014 and 2024, adding 36,500 more professionals to this field.
